Logitech G35 Review
The Logitech G35 is one of the newest gaming headsets to hit the streets. Priced relatively high, the G35 is more exclusive but definitely won’t disappoint anyone who invests in one.In true Logitech style, the G35 isn’t short on features or quality. First and foremost, 7.1 surround sound is delivered through two 40mm drivers which are nestled inside an expansive ear cup with thick padding that provides true comfort to the wearer and fully encloses the ear. The headband is fully adjustable, and comes with three different pads for greater comfort for individual head shapes and sizes. Both the headband pads and the ear cup pads are thick and the material is soft and comfy.
On the side of the ear cup is the ‘control centre’ – featuring buttons for volume, microphone mute and surround sound settings – as well as customizable keys, which you can set for certain programs or for voice morphing (yes, voice morphing!) settings. These customizable keys (or ‘G-Keys’) can be programmed through the headsets software, where you can also adjust volume, bass, treble and other settings.
The noise-cancelling microphone is a boom design, and when raised above your face the microphone auto-mutes. Having a 3m (10 ft) cable is great, but the guys at Logitech figured that it’s often annoying when you’re only using one third of it. As such, they’ve designed a clear cable management system to keep your desk from being engulfed by cables. The cable itself plugs into your computer via USB, nice as it doesn’t require you to have a soundcard with 7.1 output.
Overall the G35 headset delivers awesome quality sound and doesn’t spare on the comfort side. The only downfalls are it looks a bit chunky and it’s expensive - if you can look past this you won’t be disappointed.
