Razer Piranha
The Razer Piranha headset is a decent option for a middle tier headset in the $60 - $70 price range. It’s apparent that Razer designed this headset for gamers with the above budget who are looking for a balance of performance and looks. Looks wise, they conform to the Razer standard – all black with blue LED logos on the ear cups and wired remote. The wire itself is 3m (9.8 ft) long, preferable for most setups but if you’re on a laptop the excess cable could be slightly annoying.
Comfort-wise the Piranha is average – not uncomfortable yet not comfortable enough to earn praise. The speakers are mounted on swivels allowing for some movement to adjust for ones unique head size and shape, but after a long period of use they’ll start to become a bit uncomfortable.
The quality of sound is decent for a headset in this price range; the single drivers produce a reasonably clear sound but not as defined as more expensive headsets. The microphone produces clear sound without too much background noise and can be toggled on and off via the wired remote.
Overall the Razer Piranha is a decent headset for its price, but if you’re playing FPS and other games where sound quality is important you may want to invest a bit more. Think of the Razer Piranha as a cross between an Internet Voice headset and a gaming headset.
