Turtle Beach steps it up a notch with the Ear Force HPA2’s, the 5.1 channel surround sound amplified gaming headset. Think of the HPA2’s as the X-52’s bigger brother, they share many of the same features but the HPA2’s are bigger and bolder in almost all aspects.First of all, the Ear Force HPA2’s are fully ear enclosing and very comfortable. The ear cushions are soft and thick, and the headset is flexible and comfortable – as far as headsets go, these feel great. Inside the earcups you’ll find 4 speakers – Center, Sub, Front and Surround, providing you with a true surround sound experience.
Further down the cable we come to the amplifier, which by the way is not a gimmick – it plugs into your AC wall socket for the extra juice. On the amp you can adjust individual speakers, as well as bass enhancement. The amplifier is really the heart of the HPA2’s, and gives them the power to really perform.
The HPA2’s feature a detachable microphone, which is flexible so you can adjust its’ position to your liking. The earcups are constructed out of metal, which gives it added sturdiness yet the HPA2’s are surprisingly light.
